Get your child's teacher, school librarian, town librarian, child's friends (peer recommendations), and child's tutor to help make suggestions. Also, set up a kid book club to encourage reading such that reading = fun! My kids equate book club to 1) getting a new book, 2) eating a snack, and 3) doing a fun activity.
